day 3 (if you count the prologue....)

ok, so today we watched the end of day 1 and the entirety of day 2...we watched the prologue on saturday.........my mother tapes the action in the morning and we watch it in the evening........olntv...on cable....which we do not get........so many wrecks.......due to rain, inattention, bad luck......so far lance is doing well.....4th overall....with 8 guys to ride around him to keep him from getting involved in collisions......people line the route.......people who must have camped out for days to get the space...only to have the riders pass by in a matter of moments.......and then it is over....of course...i am married to man who would do just that if we had the chance.........yesterday the race stage ended in charleroi, belgium....the town in which scw spent a miserable month with belgianboy.......we laughed as we watched the stage...because scw had requested of his guest hosts to see chateaux...only to be told by the misery host family that there were no chateaux...they had all been pulled down.....and there were many on the course route.......finally scw found brochures highlighting area chateaux and the family condescended to visit 1.........the question remains about lance's chances to win...the story goes that eddie merxx, who also won 5 tours......was punched in the stomach by a man who did not want to see him break the record......and so he was injured and could not do so......a little hard to pull off such a devious thing in this media age.....but i am sure that lance is well guarded...and always on camera when he is riding.........i wish him well.........
