ron reagan....and lynne cheney...and theresa heinz kerry....

ok, so the political scene is heating up....at least as controlled by the spin doctors......this morning...on the same page of the paper were the following stories/news releases........ron reagan to address democrats at their convention about stem cell research.....he and his mother have been quite public about their disdain for bush's position on stem cell research, which the reagan's claim is bush's bowing to the conservative right of the party, rather than seeing the reasonable potential of this research.......bush may think differently when he gets alzheimer's....but then he won't be able to think about it for long.......the other story, about lynne cheney.......struck me as quite the planted story.....the republicans trotting out the 2nd lady......now that the democratic candidates wives have been making the rounds of talk shows, 60 minutes, etc.......the fact that the cheney's have a gay daughter is well-known...and we could all suppose that at least one of the cheney parents might 'have mixed feelings' about banning gay marriage.....the article never said anything further than mixed feelings.......so one could conclude that neither cheney will give public support to those who are in favor if legalizing gay marriages.......lynne cheney would not be on public record for any subject without the blessing of the rnc.....it is all funny........on the other hand......i was appauled to hear that at a campaign stop, theresa pulled the thumb out of the mouth of one of the edward's children........what was she thinking.....for starts, a child sucking a thumb is a quaint icon for all that is good and peaceful about american life........but a woman not the child's mother pulling that same thumb out comes off as rude, callous, and almost mean........mean as i am these days....i would never presume to take a child's thumb away...especially given the stress level that child has been thrown into of late....shame on theresa....
